The Story of Vermont Culinary Creative
I'm Breana Lai Killeen, MPH, RD, the heart and soul behind this culinary journey. As a chef and dietitian with a Chinese and Jewish heritage, my life has always been a delicious blend of diverse flavors and nutritional wisdom.
My path in the food world spans over 20 years, from restaurant kitchens to writing thousands of recipes, to crafting engaging content for renowned food and kitchen brands. I trained at Le Cordon Bleu London, received a Master's from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and am a trained sommelier by the Wine Spirit & Education Trust. I bring this unique fusion of culinary art and nutrition science to every plate.
As a writer for AllRecipes, EatingWell, Food & Wine, and a copywriter for many different food brands, I strive to inspire a shift toward culturally appropriate food media by sharing stories and concepts that resonate with a broad audience. My commitment to this craft extends beyond writing into my daily life, where I aspire to build bridges through food.

I'm also co-own Killeen Crossroads Farm with my husband, Kieran. We grow Asian vegetables and flowers, and produce beef, poultry, and eggs on 20 acres in Shelburne, Vermont. This connection to the land deeply influences my cooking and teaching style, whether I'm showing people how to whip up an impressive meal from leftover veggies or sharing the joys of farm life.
